AN EXPERIENCE
LIKE NO OTHER

Voted as ‘Sri Lanka’s Best Wellness Retreat’ by World Spa Awards, we are a holistic Ayurveda, Yoga/ Meditation Retreat Centre. We are located away from the congested tourist areas, offering a wellbeing experience through vedic disciplines of Ayurveda, Yoga and Meditation. Whilst Plantation Villa offers a warm, friendly, homely atmosphere for guests to relax, enjoy and mingle with a small rural village community, we also specialise in the art of healing using our unique six dimensional approach to wellness.

Our Ayurvedic treatments range from preventative care, detox, weight loss and general rejuvenation/wellbeing through to intensive treatments for more serious illnesses such as high blood pressure, skin diseases, cholesterol, diabetes, joint problems, back aches, digestive issues and cancer to name a few. See page on “treatment for acute illness’ for more information.

At Plantation Villa, we believe in the connection between the mind and body. Our treatments offer to heal the mind through loving care, a calming environment, and mindfulness techniques such as yoga and meditation. The body is then treated using a variety of Ayurvedic treatments, fresh food and herbal medicines. This body healing and rejuvenating experience is combined with a chance for you to join in our environmental preservation and community development activities like joining our ‘free fun days’ for villages or parties in the hotel for village kids or be a part of bigger projects like temple or school development projects. Whilst it helps the village, it will also be a very rewarding experience for you to be a part of this giving back which in turn plays a big role in our own wellbeing.

We are a community centre established and run by the village community of Nehinna. The retreat funds and maintains the Metta Trust charity to do community development, wildlife conservation and forest preservation activities. We maintain the local temples, village schools and fund majority of the community activities in our village and surrounding villages. Over 90% of our staff team are local villagers from underprivileged backgrounds who we have trained and offered employment along with mentoring to improve their lives and the lives of their children.

Guest can also participate in extra activities during their stay, such as:

  • Picking fruits and vegetables from our organic estate
  • Watching Rubber Tapping in our estate
  • Cooking lessons
  • Yoga lessons
  • Meditation lessons, Learn about Ayurveda, Yoga or Buddhist philosophy
  • Watching Rice being harvested (during season)
  • Bird watching - there are many exotic birds in our gardens
